RSVP

Date & time: 13 November — 13:15–14:45
Location: Side Event Room 4

At COP28 Parties committed to transition away from fossil fuels, yet there is still no global plan for this transition, or mechanism to ensure it is just. To address this challenge a growing bloc of countries is working towards a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty to complement the Paris Agreement.

Speakers from constituencies including Labour, Faith, Health, Youth, Subnational government, Academia as well as Indigenous Peoples & civil society leaders will discuss the rationale, opportunities, and challenges for new a mechanism to equitably phase out fossil fuels through a just transition.
