Colombia and the Netherlands will host the First Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels. The Conference is designed as a space for countries, subnational governments and other stakeholders that recognize the need to implement a transition away from fossil fuels in a just, orderly and equitable manner, in line with climate goals and the best available science.
Asia is a key region in the movement to transition away from fossil fuels. Timor Leste, Pakistan, and Cambodia have all agreed to participate in negotiations for a global framework to advance international cooperation and multilateralism for a Fossil Fuel Treaty. Now, we must mobilize the network to ensure that maximum engagement for our demands is achieved during the Conference.
