CAN-I Festival of Ideas: SAFE Cities - How local governments are phasing out fossil fuels

Monday March 14, 5.30-7pm GMT

In this workshop, you will learn about how Stand.Earth helps government leaders and activists implement local policies through its SAFE Cities Campaign, and how you can ban new fossil fuel infrastructure (gas stations, refineries, extraction facilities, etc), decarbonize buildings and transit, and endorse the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty (the Treaty) in your community. The Treaty is a sister campaign to spur the adoption of a global agreement to phase out fossil fuels and fast track a fair energy and economic transition. The first action many cities take on their path to phasing out fossil fuels and accelerating the just clean energy transition is endorsing the call for the Treaty.

Registration here.

Speakers:

  • Seble Samuel, Cities Lead for the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative

  • Anne Pernick, SAFE Cities Community Manager at Stand.earth

  • Nathan Taft, Senior Digital Campaigner at Stand.earth
