The People Vs.Fossil Fuels

If there is one issue that undermines ambitions for a healthy planet, peace and prosperity for all, it is this — fossil fuels. At this critical juncture, humanity must urgently break free from fossil fuels, but how?

From the Pacific to the Amazon, frontline communities resist the expansion of fossil fuels production and promote policies and international mechanisms to manage a fast and fair transition away from coal, oil and gas, in order to build new development models for prosperity, well-being and sufficiency.

This event will be held in the framework of Stockholm+50 People’s Forum that will catalyse civil society mobilisations for environment and global justice before and during the 50-year anniversary of the first UN environment conference. The Stockholm+50 summit provides an opportunity to place fossil fuel production into the centre of the international policy agenda, and the People’s Forum offers a chance for leaders from many progressive movements to convene and share experiences, expertise, and ideas.

It will take place in Stockholm, ABF-huset, Sveavägen 41, 1134 and be livestreamed here.
