Policymakers' Toolkit: How to drive a Just Transition from Fossil Fuels

Join the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty and Civil Society Equity Review in the webinar to launch the Policymaker’s Toolkit: How to drive a Just Transition from Fossil Fuels

Equitably phasing out fossil fuels globally is now the new litmus test for true climate leaders. The expansion of oil, gas and coal – the energy sources behind nearly ninety percent of carbon dioxide emissions causing climate change1 – is accelerating our world past the 1.5 degree warming limit. In this context, more national policymakers want advice on how they can drive a swift and just transition away from fossil fuels in their work.

In this webinar the Civil Society Equity Review and the Fossil Fuel Treaty launch a new toolkit designed to provide this support to policymakers. This Toolkit for a Fossil Fuel Phase Out strives to serve as such a guide for policymakers who want to lead legislative, regulatory and associated efforts in their own countries.

The webinar brings together discussants from policymaking and civil society, with a foreward from the Honorable Senator Professor Rosa Galvez of Quebec, Canada.

The webinar will take place at 10:00-11:00 EDT, 14:00-15:00 UTC, 16:00-17:00 CEST. Please join us by registering at the link below. Registration is required to attend the webinar.
