As regressive climate politics gain ground and fossil fuel interests attempt to tighten their grip, London Climate Action Week 2025 is a key moment to push forward a clear, coordinated solution: a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, a concrete and coordinated response to the climate crisis that aims at ending the fossil fuel era while protecting people, jobs, and our shared future.
The Fossil Fuel Treaty is the bold and necessary response to a burning world β and it is no longer a distant vision. Momentum is growing across continents, from cities like London and Calcutta to countries like Colombia and Vanuatu. Backed by a powerful global movement β including 101 Nobel laureates, major unions like UNISON, the WHO, the European Parliament, Ban Ki-moon, over 4,000 civil society groups, 3,000 scientists, 11 Amazonian Indigenous nations, and more than 130 cities like London β the call is clear: a fast, fair, and global phase-out of fossil fuels.
This panel event and reception β hosted by Stamp Out Poverty and the Fossil Fuel Treaty Initiative, in partnership with the Climate Hub β will explore how we move from momentum to action:
What real energy security means in a warming world
How to end fossil fuel expansion while leaving no one behind
How we can come together to help secure negotiations toward a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty by 2026
Speakers will include:
Kumi Naidoo (President, Fossil Fuel Treaty)
Mete Coban (Deputy Mayor of London for Environment and Climate)
Caterina Sarfatti (C40 Cities)
More to be announced.
Whether youβre in London or joining online, RSVP now and be part of the growing global call for climate action that matches the scale of the crisis.
