Network Strategy Session: Building The Next Phase Of Uk Engagement On The Fossil Fuel Treaty

  • Friends House 173 Euston Road London, England, NW1 2AE United Kingdom (map)

πŸ“… Friday 27 June | 9:00–16:00 BST
πŸ“ Friends House - 173-177 Euston Rd, London NW1 2BJ.

As London Climate Action Week brings climate leaders and advocates from around the world to the UK capital, we’re taking the opportunity to reconnect and regroup with UK-based allies to strengthen our shared strategic thinking around the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty β€” a bold and achievable international response to a world on fire.

In the face of rising regressive climate politics, the Treaty offers a clear, coordinated path to phase out fossil fuels while supporting a just transition. And it is no longer a distant vision. Momentum is growing across continents, from cities like London and Calcutta to countries like Colombia and Vanuatu. Backed by a powerful global movement β€” including 101 Nobel laureates, major unions like UNISON,  the WHO, the European Parliament, Ban Ki-moon, over 4,000 civil society groups, 3,000 scientists, 11 Amazonian Indigenous nations, and more than 130 cities like London β€” the call is clear: a fast, fair, and global phase-out of fossil fuels.

This working session is convened by Stamp Out Poverty, Global Justice Now, and the Fossil Fuel Treaty Initiative to:

  • Build on the recent momentum for a Fossil Fuel Treaty across the UK

  • Dive deeper into our common UK strategy to define the role the UK could have in the future Treaty negotiations

  • Identify actionable next steps and collaborative activities.

We hope you can join us for this important strategy conversation for the UK and the world!

 RSVP here to confirm attendance.
